Dear Colleagues

The first Technology of Extracorporeal Assist Meeting (TEAM) takes place on November 4–5, 2017 at the University Hospital Zurich. The course adjoins the annual meeting of the Swiss Society of Perfusion SSoP and the official SSoP training on November 4, 2017.

We will deal with the perfusion challenges that we face in heart failure and pulmonary insufficiency patients: Extracorporeal Circulation (ECC), Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), Ventricular Assist Device (VAD). With an interdisciplinary approach, we bring together perfusionists, cardiac surgeons, intensivists, cardiologists and anesthesiologists, to create passionate discussions.

The TEAM meeting is focused on multidisciplinary strategies for Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS). Today, the increasing functionality of MCS improves patients’ quality of life. An interdisciplinary team is the way to efficiently bring these innovations to our patients. Until recently, such teams were rarely taken into account in the clinical decision making process, while advanced heart centers are showing viable interdisciplinary models in the treatment of heart failure.

We believe, the road to success is linked to the interaction between different disciplines and professionals, locally and on an inter-institutional level. We are looking forward to your participation and active contribution to the TEAM meeting. To experience examples of Heart-Team strategies and cooperation, as inspiration to change your daily realities.

See you in Zurich!
